about

At the risk of butchering what might have once been said, perhaps the reason we hold on to things that bring us sorrow is because, at one point, they brought us joy. And it is precisely this joy that, upon liberation, makes a crestfallen transition from functional, albeit dormant, emotion, to mere memory. “Good For One Nothing” houses the final two Catamount songs that, as of now, have not fully surpassed the “demo” stage. That being said, they were made with the intention of being heard by ears other than our own. We hope they make it to yours.

Track Name: See It Go
Darling, I remember your fight for life,
your holding tight,
that only I could escape awake.
"Come again?" you say.
We're not related,
but I know you well.
And you're not my latest,
I'm afraid to tell.

So what is there to be replaced?
I'm lying, I'm a case, you know.
I promise I won't make it white.

Surely you remember the holes of mine,
the old polite,
the overnight. I'm ashamed, I'm a mess
in my mane, and my dress.
But I graduated.
At a gaze, Astaire.
Polar elated;
That's a shade that I wear.

So what is there to be replaced?
I'm lying, I'm a case, you know.
I promise I won't make it white.

See it go…
Track Name: Follow
Telescope to find you in a crowd.
Blur, I'll make it out somehow.
I do it all just to see your face.
So slow, a sigh, and with affection,
"How long it's been, how big you've grown.
I can't even recall your name."

Lead me, I'll follow.
I swear I'll follow.
Lead me to where you stay (where I don't feel so hollow).

"Take Home," says a sign above the exit
that I'm standing in. I bet you know
I'm only here to erase the day.
Stay close. Balance and correction,
as I stumble your direction, high.
Take my hand as I pull and sway.

Lead me, I'll follow.
I swear I'll follow.
Lead me to where you stay (where I don't feel so hollow).

Ever-cold, sleeping in my clothes,
alone, I toss and turn all night.
I feel like you should know.
I'm getting old, a catalogue to atone.
"No pain, no prayer." I hope that's right.
It's all I have to show.

Lead me, I'll follow.
I swear I'll follow.
Lead me to where you stay (where I don't feel so hollow).
